Yesterday was a day of filming at Starehe. We had a team meeting around 11am to briefly discuss all of the shots we need and want to get of Starehe before heading out of Nairobi. We got some establishing shots of the school, and after lunch, we filmed Khadeeja giving a practice HIV/AIDS workshop to some of the school faculty and other Starehe girls.
After the practice workshop, we interviewed Mary Mwende and Khadeeja—two of the most amazing girls (who will be in NY in September!!)
During dinner the power went out for a while, which was just a funny experience. After dinner (and waiting for the power to come back on) we all waited outside with Jody (we = the team plus a whole herd of Starehe girls) until his car came to pick him up and take him to the airport.
After Jody left we all sort of went our separate ways (the power was still out!) and hung out with the girls and then went to bed.
