Day 8: Kisumu Bound

We had heard much about this crater in Nakuru area from Courtney, so we were very pumped to go. So this morning we hiked a bit of it- it’s the second largest crater in the world- absolutely beautiful and enormous. We had to cut our climbing short in order to head onward to Kisumu, but it was still tiring. However, an 8 year-old girl was able to pass us, while barefoot and carrying a baby on her back. Yes, we definitely felt out of shape. Afterwards we continued on to Kisumu on an incredibly long and bumpy road via the Mololine. As evening approached, we met up with Alie Evanfield to discuss with her what we would be doing with her and SWAP in the upcoming week. It was great to finally meet this Alie who everyone seemed to know and talk about relentlessly.
